can you be more specific about CramFS ?
EDIT: I've looked more into this and it seems CramFS is very simple..
you just need to copy relevant files with either tar or rsync to tmp folder and create new cramfs.img with mkcramfs (kindle has the mkcramfs tool too), so I don't think it's a big issue.
Issue is to get all needed files to modify to get proper localization.
