As a heavy user of calibre, and a heavy user of the Collections Manager kindlet (which hooks into NiLuJe's Kindle Collections plugin), I agree.

I personally think that K4PC is good for nothing but downloading books into calibre, for people who don't have an e-ink.
calibre's builtin reader does a better job of displaying books, on the odd occasion I need to read on the computer, and is only lacking annotations -- a feature I don't use.

So I only download once -- via my KT, and load that into calibre as a backup.
