I am using a .tff font so I just put Stone Serif Regular.tff into /.kobo/koreader/fonts/freefont/ folder and it appears on the listing of fonts you can select in the menu. If I wanted the other font stiles for Stone Serif, like bold or italic, to be used as well I would add them, to the folder. (I think they are selected automatically, as needed.) You well see italic and bold with just the Regular.tff file not sure what the others give you.
There are a number of controls in both the top and bottom menus that have effects on how the text displays.

Sorry, I haven't posted for the last week but I was in the VA hosp, for a triple bypass. (Recovery is a pain. But I am out of the hospital. )
