For me, the built-in Kindle software reboots the HDX. I don't know what this is about. Reading using the sideloaded Nook app and any other kind of reading do not do this.

I usually forget about the edge haze until I use another tablet, and then it is painfully obvious again.
Lately, I acquired a new Nook GlowLight... and I have to say, I vastly prefer the screen to the Paperwhite that I got rid of.
