I read Shield if Winter when it released. I had some quibbles with it but overall liked it. I think I gave it a B (not at home to check Calibre.) Nalini said she would probably wrap up the initial story arc with the next book and folks who were reading for that would be satisfied. But she plans to continue with the series as she has lots of stories to tell. There's a post from a few months ago on her blog about the future of the series. I am on my phone or I would post a link.
