The latter is a relief! But its a pain when you go to do a sync on the computer and it complains that it cant because you need a newer OS. On the matter of the former, it may be more work for the devs but in fact many of them are not even trying, they are simply creating for iOS8.

It makes you wonder, really, given that Stanza with absolutely no effort, works perfectly well in 8 (except for the restricted screen size but functionally fine except for the Amazon muckups) and so does my old Shopping list app (Shoplist... again with restricted screen size but functionally just fine)...one wonders then why more recent apps cannot be as reliable... I don't think its about the work, TBH.
