For anyone interested in using some of the Google apps on the Fire HD 6, I was able to get some of them working using the method to add your Google account listed on
Android Cowboy which worked on my 8.9 in the past. Then I used 1mobile to install the latest versions of the Google apps I needed, but sideloading them from another android device would probably work. Google Drive, Play Newstand, Books, Music, Movies & TV work fine for me with no issues. I'm even happier with this device now than I was since I can use the content that I have with Google on it.
