Ok, well it seems to be good for the moment. I had to reupload the three library books that I had on it, but they are back and seem to open fine.

I'm not sure what will happen the next time I plug it in and open up the Kobo Desktop. I wonder if it was having issues because my Kobo itself wasn't up to date? I would have thought Desktop should have taken care of that, but it apparently didn't.
