As far as I can tell, the Galaxy Tab 4 only comes in 8GB, and is on the expensive side. Two strikes against it! I will not buy another tablet with only 8GB. It is too limiting. Even with the SD card. Major fail!
I like that the Fire 6 is thicker, also, it will feel sturdier. Since I plan to shove it in my purse a lot, sturdy is good!

Amazon went way overboard with the bezels on the 1st gen HD 7. That's the one thing i hate most on mine. It's way too wide.
On Amazon, the Fire HD 7 16GB is $159 and the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 8GB w/mSD is $164. So they're basically the same price. When comparing it to the HD 6, it's more expensive.
Some people prefer the expansion capabilities afforded by a card slot and others don't. It's definitely a YMMV type of thing. Personally, my preference is 32GB with no card slot.
And sturdy it is! A major plus for kids, pockets and bags.
