I suppose it's possible, but that packaging shows the brand as Slick who also put out other various generic readers.

Kind of like the Lookbook from Shift3 it also had Kobo badging on the package, but was not a Kobo brand devices. They were "powered by Kobo" as far as book store (& maybe reading app). Also the Sharper Image Literati.
