The battery seems to have a weird chemistry where it discharges non-linearly and I think sometimes just doesn't have enough power at all, that's when you get into the coma behaviour or the reboot loop.
While it's true the the Android core could be optimized more for the power consumption, that's just one angle.

Your theory makes a lot of sense. I've also thought about it. But then again I have absolutely no bootloop issues, but do have TS issues.
And yes I totally agree that if there's a HW issue, SW remedies are almost useless.
Thanks for your help. It'd be nice if we had data from a supposedly good device.
