The problem with installing the wrong package is the uimage (the kernel) and uboot files. In the past, the installation scripts didn't differentiate between the devices. Hence using the wrong package could result in the wrong version of these files being installed and a bricked ereader. The current firmware handles this better and as I don't expect an of the packages would include these files for the H20, using them is very safe. The only issue would be if the newer firmware had function in it that needed the updated kernel. Kobo doesn't do that very often, so this is probably safe as well.
