Install Calibre as Normal. After first startup,
Exit DO NOTHING ELSE.
Now copy the
entire contents BACKUP Library into your new Library folder (usually
Calibre Library)
Start Calibre: you should SEE your books listed. Open one as a test
Last step (optional) Test the full integrity of the restore by running
Library Maintenance
