My daughter's K3 screen broke outside of warranty. I called Kindle support just to see what my options were and they offered me a discounted PW1 (refurb,,, this was before the PW2 came out, iirc). The refurb came with problems so they replaced it with a new one. Sweet!
That being said, there's nothing wrong with your PW that a new Voyage/Kobo won't fix.
