Too open your Kobo touch.
I would hold your reader face down on table right next to table edge. Reason I like it face down on table, I think is little less likely to twist screen which can damage screen. I also use a guitar pick. I would start at top left corner away from off/on switch. Work pick down side towards bottom. Then across bottom and across top to center and up other side to switch then across top to switch. Twist pick a little helps separate case. As you slide pick down side you will feel plastic tab that hold 2 top and bottom halves together. This is where I twist pick. Do not stick pick in too far as can't see what can be damaged. My Kobo wifi had double sided tape holding halves together. I used pick to separate this also. Just be careful and try to see how to do this without damage. Could still have lose connection, bad battery or something that could be fixed.
