I had already tried the temp folder solution without success, and what I find strange is that this error only shows for ->kepub. And yes, it's all book conversions, also mobi->kepub. I am starting to think this may be the plugin fault, but still, other users didn't mention anything.

The code that is failing is in the Kepub Output plugin, so it isn't surprising that only conversions to kepub are having problems.
From where the error is happening, you have hyphenation turned on in the Kepub Output options. Turning it off should avoid the error.
While I can see where it is failing, I'm not sure why. It seems to be complaining about a file name, but it shouldn't be a issue at that point. It isn't happening here, so that suggest it is something about the books or your system. Can I get a copy of a book? If you can send me a book from your library, I can have a look and see if I can see what is causing this.
The debug log that PeterT suggested might also help. Most of it is in the conversion log, but there might be something useful in the debug log.
