I think it probably predates the Bible, back when months were literally measured by the moon (28 days between each full moon), and a quarter moon of 7 days was a nice easy measurement.
Also, someone's gonna be pretty disappointed when Tuesday comes and goes with no word on shipping from Kobo.
I'm counting on at least a week or two past the "release date" before it's in my hands.
