I don't think you can base the durability of a reader just on one single experience. If that were so then I could tell you that the Kobo Aura HD is practically indestructible as it once fell out of my cargo pocket and fell two and a half feet and landed on a concrete train platform and didn't receive more than a light scratch on the corner.
