That sounds like touch to me.
No, they aren't real physical buttons, they're sensors, but there are differences between these and touchscreens. They're supposed to be pressure sensitive which is not a normal feature of capacitive touchscreens, but more importantly:
1) You do have to lift a finger on a touchscreen if you want to read what's underneath that finger. And you have to do it over and over again, which really can be a pain for folks whose hands are healthy and youthful
2) with page turning off the screen, fewer fingerprints end up on screen, and some of us are pretty ocd about that. I'd just as soon use dpad nav like the K4 nontouch and never ever touch the screen, but less is still better.
