The Perdou Painting & Stepping Stones Mystery by Anne Digby, who has a lot of St. Martin's Press paperbacks from the 80s-90s (and we previously received another HarperCollins backlist novel of hers upthread).

These are continuations of her tween Jill Robinson Adventure series, which started with another novel that came out from Penguin's Puffin imprint in 1990.

When an old French oil painting goes missing from Haven's grandest house, Jill has no idea of the crisis it will cause in the Robinson family. With her big sister Sarah's future at stake, she has no option but to confide in her best friend Lindy. The mystery of the Perdou painting is a troubling one and together they must try to solve it...

&

Jill and Lindy love the idea of Haven Youth Club's summer holiday project. They're going to try to build a river crossing at the Stepping Stones bend.

However, Club is deeply divided on the issue and so are members of the Robinson family, especially young Tony.

Feelings are running very high....but surely not high enough to lead to sabotage?
