It was probably a corrupt file. I encountered 2 of these when downloading my library. And, using the Tampermonkey/Greasemonkey script, I also got 2 wrong files (they were supposed to be ebooks. They downloaded as samples of completely different books. I was able to identify one and luckily I had already downloaded. I have no idea what the 2nd one was, so I hope I downloaded it some other time or it was a freebie.)
I have not had these problems with Kindle for PC
