Actually it's not all gloom & doom, & certainly not THAT dangerous. But I believe people should be aware of the risks involved before they take into account the benefits.
The M96 has a recovery which you can boot into if the Booxtor ROM doesn't work. From there you can manually flash a copy of your original RAM (please download one from Artatech/Onyx website beforehand).
Every once in a while I manage to scare people, you were just the latest victim. That's all.
