There should be nothing wrong with getting a refurb as a replacement, so don't let that sour you. But if you are having problems with the replacement, as has already been suggested, get back in touch with Kobo and ask them to replace it again as it is not working properly. It's a PITA but even if you have to do it more than once, you should be able to get a perfectly good refurbed Aura HD and be very happy with it, regardless of the warranty only being 90 days.
