Because it
wasn't a great idea. People just complained about it not working. Amazon took them up on it and removed it altogether. There is not and has never been a "Touch to Speak", however, the Text to Speech that did exist was a non-feature that few used. I don't really blame Amazon for getting rid of a feature that nobody used. Audiobooks are a whole lot better than TTS, anyway.
