My roots in Texas go back to the early 1800s prior to independence. I'm not really sure why my dopey ancestors stopped here in a dry, cactus encrusted, rattlesnake infested wilderness run by greedy white land speculators and a corrupt Mexican dictator, but they did. Personally I would have continued westward until I reached New Mexico or Colorado. As much as I'm a fish out of water here, politically, ideologically, and religiously, I stay because of family. Without family I am nothing. Not a day goes by that I don't want to string up half or more of the Texas politicians, but it is home, and these days they no longer allow us to hang corrupt politicians in the town square.

Hi Jack,
Living in North Carolina BY CHOICE (sort of). Not thrilled with the politics here either. You know what I say to all those people who question why I live here? I say "Y'all come down and vote! No point in living in Massachusetts or one of them there liberal states. Go where your vote does some good."
More power to you, Texas Man!
