Actually, you CANNOT download a book from Amazon without using an Amazon program unless you have a Kindle registered to your account and the software versions do not count.. I have to use Kindle for PC in order to download from Amazon. I don't have a Kindle registered to my account so Amazon won't allow a direct download.
