I can't find the original post for this, copied this from a reply by JosieB, so I'm not sure if it was directed at me are not. Although I'm inclined to agree with you in principle that Texas politics and politicians suck more than a million vacuum cleaners, it is my native home and most of my family still lives here. My roots in Texas go back to the early 1800s prior to independence. I'm not really sure why my dopey ancestors stopped here in a dry, cactus encrusted, rattlesnake infested wilderness run by greedy white land speculators and a corrupt Mexican dictator, but they did. Personally I would have continued westward until I reached New Mexico or Colorado. As much as I'm a fish out of water here, politically, ideologically, and religiously, I stay because of family. Without family I am nothing. Not a day goes by that I don't want to string up half or more of the Texas politicians, but it is home, and these days they no longer allow us to hang corrupt politicians in the town square.
