This is not more secure. What this means is that people who are using "Barnes & Nobel Desktop Reader" or "Nook for PC" (desktop version) and have no clue about where there eBooks are stored cannot remove the DRM. Those that use the Windows 8 app are screwed. as that's a heaping pile of pain in the a$$ to be able to fix the eBooks to be able to strip the DRM.
All B&N is doing is trying to make it harder for customers to get at the eBooks to then be able to strip the DRM.
