Even if I push the slider all the way to the right, the font size stays at the same uncomfortably (for me) small size.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to regain the size-changing ability?
The few times I've seen that problem has been in ebooks that specify the font size in absolute values (pixels or points are the most common). Unfortunately a font size that is readable on a Touch gets rather small on a Glo and unreadable on a Aura HD.

The only answer I've found is to edit the ebook to change the font size to relative. This only works when the ebook is not DRMed or you have removed the DRM. Some books just aren't worth the trouble to break the DRM.

See css-font-size-relative-vs-absolute-values-which-to-use for a bit more information.
