Attention! Attention please! It is OFFICIALLY fall in NC! How do I know, you ask?
1. I woke up cold (took the quilted bed spread off the bed in May)
2. Sammie cat, the older plump cat, who spent the summer lying comatose on the carpet in a pool of sunlight, got off her butt and was found on the table, looking out the front door sidelight ... AWAKE!
And, the clincher?
Stella AND Sammie sat beside the closet where the cat toys are stored - and BOTH wailed at the top of their lungs for me to play with them! And Sammie actually played!
Oh .... and it was 56 F this morning (but you can never trust the thermometer)
And, we're having our last dose of summer on Sunday (86 F) - then the bottom drops out of the temps ....
