Don't you think that's genius? Then complain to Adam and Eve. They just could resist pirating the only DRMed product in Eden: a certain apple. No, they had to rant about how DRM is bad (all while sneakily eating the apple!).
Well, Lucky GPL came along, and offered a DRM removing tool!
Now anyone willing can copy/read it unlimited!
