A few things:
1) Wow, I can't believe I never noticed that. That's very handy.
2) Is there some reason not to enable it for any list larger than the screen? It seem somewhat arbitrary that I have to know how many items on my list before I try to grab it.
3) There seems to be an issue. I am on a list of 27 items. I have 6 on the screen at a time (maybe 6 and a half) and it won't let me grab it.
4) Yes, I think it would be great to be able to do this in the grouping drawer as well.
5) It would be nice to have an option for lefties so that the scroll bar would appear on the left hand side. Since it disappears when you stop, I think it is ok if it overlaps the covers while you are moving.
6) By the same logic, is there a strong reason not to enable it in cover view?
7) While I think that having an idea where you are on the list would still be nice, this is close enough that I don't think its worth your effort to implement my idea. Now, if you are bored one day with nothing to do....
