After manually copying a book (epub) to the reader using a USB cable, when you reconnect the reader to a computer and choose the option not to connect (by pressing the cancel button) and the device can be utilized as normal while it is charging.

In the top menu a blinking message is shown "Downloading…". I guess this must be "Charging…".

This message is not going away when you disconnect the reader or put the reader in sleep mode. Only a power cycle will do this.

I'm also conviced now that it has nothing to do with charging. The reader tries to establish a WiFi connection but fails because all WiFi settings are disabled.
Reason unkown as my WiFi connection is usually disabled and the procedure above does not require a WiFi connection at all. It all done by wire.



Device: Kobo Glo, fw 3.8.0.
WiFi releated settings: all disabled and all the time
