As to the Voyage, the magnesium case mentioned in the Engaget review as well as the etched glass, added sensors, etc are all fancy fit-n-finish touches typical of high end Premium products. It is neither an entry-level reader nor a value reader; the Touch2 and PW2 already serve those buyers.

Voyage is really meant for the serious Kindle fan who would never consider anything else and who will eagerly pay a $50 premium for what is literally The Best Kindle Money Can Buy. The only thing missing is the user's name laser etched on the back.

It is not for everybody, which is half the point of it right there.
Some folks like to pamper themselves and $50 isn't that much of a premium.
They'll make great gifts, too.

Remember, Amazon sells diamonds and gallery art as well as disposable diapers.
They'll take money from anybody, poor or rich.
