I use my Nexus 7 (2nd generation) for most of my reading now. I don't use any of the bookstore apps. I use Mantano with Calibre Companion. I stored several different themes for reading with various background colors which I change to fit my mood.
I have a cover which does add a small amount of weight. It's the
M-Edge 360 in raspberry/pink. I like it because it protects the corners of the device if it should ever fall (I am a tad paranoid about dropping my device). I also like the built in stand which can be landscape or portrait mode, though I don't use except when I am reading at the dining room table. For reading in bed I got the
pyramid pillow Blossom recommended in another thread. (though Hog Wild wasn't part of the desciption when I bought it).
