I see that it is an unpopular choice, but I believe that I am going to get another Paperwhite, after getting rid of my first two (both had manufacturing problems).
The 167ppi on the new basic touch Kindle is not really an upgrade over the screen on the current basic 5-button Kindle that I have, while the PW at 212, and with better screen tech generally is a definite upgrade. The light will be nice as well (that has actually been the hardest thing to live without, in my opinion).
I don't like how much the PW weighs, but I can adjust to it. The Voyage is intriguing, and I can justify $200 on an e-reader (I read for hours every day) but I'm kind of attracted to the middle option at this point.
BTW, I told my wife yesterday that I bet they keep the PW around as a middle tier option and I was right!

First time ever! Now, what I didn't see coming was them leaving my Fire HDX 7" as it is, and upgrading the 8.9". But I like it, makes sense. And the Fire HDX 7" is still a potent device in the 7" category of tablets. And it will get the Sangrita (Fire OS 4.0) upgrade this fall. Totally looking forward to that.
