I'm kind of shocked about the 6" tablet as sales of smaller tablets are shrinking because of larger smartphones, but perhaps they are targeting kids.
I had the same thought, the PW1 and Nook Simple Touch are probably the last e-ink devices I'll buy. Tablets are dirt cheap now with audio and other features that make it unthinkable for me to spend $200 on e-ink as much as I like it. An 8" Nextbook tablet at Walmart is half the price of Amazon's high end e-ink device.
