Ah ok. From what I understand the extended version is pretty much like the original release of the book just with some more stuff that Mr. King was forced to cut (due to concerns about length) when it was 1st published. Some stuff he cut stayed cut (according to the forward in the extended version) but some stuff was restored as he felt it added to the story. That's pretty much a personal judgement call though I think as to which is better.
