I don't know which OS you are using, but in Windows, there is a selection to have the text either portrait or landscape. All you would have to do is the turn your monitor and/or laptop on its side "portrait mode" with the selection made and you have a portrait screen.
I believe the commands are with the display commands in the control panel.
