Yes, that was why I asked about it — I'd prefer a setting somewhere in the span of brightness that is jumped. I seemed to be able to get it on the previous firmware — 3.3.0, I think? Also, without the new screen-based slider that is misbehaving (for me), I didn't have to reset the light level once it was set. I just used the horizontal slider activated by tapping the light setting at the top of the screen, and it stayed as was unless I went into that setting again. That doesn't happen now. And speaking of that horizontal slider, it seemed more responsive and even on the previous firmware — now, it seems a bit twitchy and to jump around in chunks.
As I said before, I'd like to turn the vertical light settings slider off completely. I have no need or use for it, and find it quite annoying that it resets my light setting to 2% if I simply tap anywhere on the left side of the screen next to the bevel, or even move my finger within the range of the IR sensors — hence my new need to reset the light setting frequently.
It's not even a matter of tapping in the bottom left corner, at a place that would seem to correspond to 2%, that makes it reset so low. I've tried tapping at a height that would represent somewhere around 30%, but it still resets to 2%. And this is with a single tap, not a swipe.
