There was some of that, running refrigerators, offers to take me where I could wear a nice tight fitting jacket. ..

The irony of the situation was all of my years in search and rescue, being a vet, andbeing pretty well trained and level headed and taking girl scouts to the woods numerous times and successfully returning them. There was also the knowledge that this kids father was a judge at the international court at the Hague. Visions of international incidents were dancing through my head. These kids had only been in country a little over a week and in the immediate area 2 days. The next day I took them to the county fair and had dog tags made up with my address and phone number on them. Did that with every other exchange student I had over the years. Best welcoming gift to the kids ever!
