We--my past life--once rearranged an entire Hotel site in the SE Asian locale, to accord with the Feng Shui required therefor. We also accorded with all local customs, vis-a-vis blessings, yadda, to keep people happily working.
On to the issue at hand: what you have previously described, in terms of what would "suit" each gender, sounds pretty evolutionary-biology to me--"wealth" or primacy/alpha status for a male, and the other ("harmony") for a female, so, given how s/he is living his/her life, I'd say you should calculate it as though s/he were a birth female. It seems both logical and intuitive--given what you've relayed--so hopefully,
that is harmonious as well.
Clavell is one of my all-time favorite authors.
