Yikes. I didn't know that. Saying that, I use the external card only to store media. Presumably this limitation won't stop any app from reading say an ebook or an mp3 or a video file, no matter the location? If so, that would be a massive pain.
Personally, I do find an external card an essential. I suppose it depends on how much internal memory the tablet has.
