Let me clarify my thinking on this matter. But before I do, let me add that I am quite capable of separating my role as a moderator and my role as a frequenter of that thread.

Speaking as a member who every day visits that thread: my thinking is that things are fine the way they are, but I wouldn't personally lose any sleep over a name change that might or might not happen. Discussion, when it happens, seems joyful and full of good communication about the discount codes. We all seem to be sharing in one another's good fortune.

Speaking as a Moderator: I find the thread to be OK the way it is. I only ever intervene when someone gets nasty with another member, or when off-topic posts continue on and on and on, and then the focus gets lost. In fact, I can't remember that happening, although I'm sure it has happened in the past. (I've been busy containing some horrible fires lately in some other threads, really nasty behavioral issues.) Let me put it this way: Whatever is happening (or is perceived to be happening in that thread), is really minor, in my opinion.

It's good having a discussion on these issues here in this Feedback forum....where discussion is civil, respectful, and listened to as different members express varying views.
