There were a lot of sex scenes and the h/h jump into bed less than an hour after they meet.
I don't read the Guild Hunter series so I can't comment on how it compares, but I'm under the impression that is more of an urban fantasy series, so again this book is very different. I think the second half was much stronger than the first half, so even if you start out not liking it you may end up doing so.
I think everyone is use to her complex writing style so when she writes a normal NA type book people were expecting it to follow that pattern. I think it's great she is so versatile in her writing. I am getting it through Lending as I want to read it.
