One of the items on my "Least Favorite Things" list: Going down to the basement and finding a puddle of water under the pipes.
(It's just a pinhole leak. I was only able to find it by turning off all the lights and shining a flashlight until I found the stream, and followed it back to the source. Still, we weren't planning a plumber's visit.)
