Coverage maps are nice, but they don't tell the whole story. There are many areas where T-Mobile has 4G, but doesn't show it on their map because they "undersell" their coverage in an effort to avoid unhappy customers. I guess they figure it's better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed. The only way to know for sure is to take your device there and see what their coverage is.
T-Mobile is not known for having the best rural coverage, but obviously they're working on it.
I used to love my iPhone and Apple. But I migrated away over screen size, and I haven't regretted it once for user experience. You can make Android look and act like an iPhone with NovaLauncher, but you can't make an iPhone look and act like an Android with anything. Apple has been insisting for too long they know better than their users what their users want, and they've finally admitted that screen size is an issue that is driving customers away.
In the meantime, I'm loving my new Samsung S5 and see no reason to regret my purchase...
