According to the Apple website, the 6+ has a resolution of "1920-by-1080-pixel resolution at 401 ppi." The iPhone 6 has a "1334-by-750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi." As far as I can tell, the dimensions and resolution cited by your article were simply made up.
