I had to update my amazon app to the latest version.
Now go into the amazon app and browse to a prime eligible video (i chose farscape). Now it will ask you if you want to download the prime instant video app. You have to select "install from unknown sources" in your android settings too.
Now, once installed, you have to go to the amazon app, browse to the movie you want to watch and on the product page, there will be a banner at the top to open it in the instant video app. You cannot open the video app directly and you cannot download it from the Play store.
Silly way to do it...hopefully it changes eventually.
