I think that we are talking about different series, it seems that there is a TV series by that same name that I was not aware of. I am talking about a book series by that name, that I have attempted to illustrate below. The books are post-appocolyptic US, where the books do talk about interpersonal relationships among the characters however this tends to be rare since they are typically fighting for survival:
